More Torrevieja Hotels – Thanks to Its Tourism Industry
If you have not yet heard of the city of Torrevieja, then you should start browsing the net to find more about the splendor of this tourist destination. As a tourist industry grows, and the Torrevieja Hotel industry is similarly nurtured. This place is a favorite get away vacation not only of Spaniards but the magic extends to the whole of Europe.
Torrevieja is situated in Costa Blanca and the nice climate can be attributed to the weather in the Mediterranean region. This city is mountainous and is surrounded by two large saltwater lagoons. These lagoons were the reason for the place’s salt production industry and much of the economy in the early days. However, in the past few years, tourism has become one major industry and along with this, real estate boomed. Thus, there emerged more hotels.
As it is a coastal city, beach resorts were developed and became another “come-on” for tourists. The beaches have fine sand and crystal clear waters. As tourists flock in the beaches hotels were built near these beaches. Prominent beaches are La Mata, Cabo Cervera, Los Locos El Cura and Los Naufragos. Marvelous coves also are found in the northern part and natural swimming pools are in existent near the Juan Aparicio promenade. The saltwater has become famous also for curing some ailments like rheumatism, arthritis and respiratory diseases.
The weather and climate also account for the popularity of this place. The World Health Organization even commended the weather of the place and called it one of the healthiest climates in the whole world. It is summer in Torrevieja for the most of the year. This again is one good reason to go on vacation to this city. You can enjoy the beaches almost year round.
Many golf enthusiasts go to this place. There are around 10 golf courses around Torrevieja. Three of these are the Villamartin, Las Ramblas and Campoamor. These three are almost near each other. However, the amenities and the offerings of each are varied. The oldest is the Villamarin which was designed and built in 1972 and in 1994 it became the host for European Golf tour. Many Torrevieja hotels are also built in the vicinity of the different golf courses.
Festivals are other attractions for tourists in Torrevieja. Almost every month, a celebration is being held. So any tourist who comes any time of the year can be witness to a festival of that occasion. Most popular feasts though are the Feast of the Three Kings that run from January 5 to January 6 and the Feast of the Lady of Pilar celebrated every October 12. Our Lady of the Pilar is the patron saint and knowing that Spain is a Christian country, then it is only evident that the people celebrate religious feasts.
Night life is very evident in Torrevieja. With many bars, music lounges and restaurants in the center of the city, there is no dull moment for a guest who can always party the night out. And – there are shopping malls where visitors can buy gift items and souvenirs.
The many attractions of this Costa Blanca city have properly developed the industry of Torrevieja hotels. The place will continue to bustle and it is expected that the establishment of vacation houses and residences in this place by other Europeans will continue and consequently bring a more progressive Torrevieja community.
