If you need to learn how to make money with a blog, you need to make sure you are working on the right "stuff".  You can waste a huge amount of time in your blogging.  This will kill your income.  I have three things you must do to make money with a blog.  You need to heed these recommendations as they will help you a log in your blogging.  Here are my recommendations:

1.  Help readers, don't sell them --  You can not build a strong readership by constantly selling your readers "stuff".  You need to help your readers solve their problems for a good while.  You need to let them know for sure that you are there to help them.  Once you let your readers know you are there for them, they will look at your products out of respect to you.

2.  Speak in your voice --  You want to develop your "voice" for you blog.  You want to speak in a consistent way to your readers so they can be sure it is you "talking" to them.  Your readers want to develop some trust in you and your motivations.  The more you can communicate with them in a predictable and consistent basis, the better you are going to be income wise.

3.  Make yourself available to your readers --  You do not want to hide behind your computer.  There are plenty of people that work this way on the Internet.  You need to stand out in the crowd, so always make yourself available to your readers.  You can do this via email or Skype chat.  It really doesn't matter how.  Just connect with your readers at every chance you can, and your blog will become much stronger because of this.

When you do these three things, your blog will stand out in the eyes of your readers.  This is very important for you, as they will have a tendency to come back and visit your blog again.  Once you have repeat visitors, you have the beginnings of a profitable blog.
