Be Safe in Using an Aluminum Floor Jack

A jack is a necessity in every car owner’s tool box.  It is basically used to easily lift your car for you to access those parts underneath that is out of your reach.  But you must always be cautious while using one.  Imagine you are under your car trying to fix something for hours and your car jack stand suddenly glitches.  You do not want that to happen do you?  That is why knowing how to properly use a jack will not only save you valuable time on installing it and fixing your car but will also save you from being literally crushed by your car.  These are some tips that you should know to properly use a jack.

You should keep your car manual within your car just in case you might need it.  Like when if your car needs to be jacked, you can’t just pick any spot for you to place it.  To make sure that you and your car will be safe find the steps there as to where the jack should be placed.  If you left your manual, you can call support from the cars manufacturer.  Others may think that the heavier jacks are a must have but the lightweight aluminum floor jacks will do, especially if it’s an emergency.

Second, make sure that your car is parked in a perfectly leveled surface. This will make you safe while checking your car using an aluminum floor jack. You might feel that the jack is steady enough even though the surface is not quite leveled. But certainly, it can easily lean for whatever reason and you might be in great danger when that happens. The first thing that comes in our mind is the get a piece of wood or cement and places it under the wheels thinking for extra safety. Actually, you are not doing any good; the best thing to do is to buy a proper chock on auto supply store and bring it always with you so when you fix your car using a jack place the chock under your wheels. That is extra safety for you.
