About Aldar Beedo & The 7186 Watto’s Junkyard Star Wars LEGO Set

In Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, we meet with Aldar Beedo. Aldar Beedo was one of those many types in Star Wars that was a hired gunman who would supply his services to the highest bidder. He was also a podracer that piloted the MARK IV Flat-Twin Turbojet.

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace follows the Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi as they escort Queen Amidala from planet to planet. On one of their missions, Qui-Gon Jinn makes a wager with a salesman named Watto to free his slave, Anakin Skywalker, should Anakin win a podrace that Qui-Gon Jinn has managed to convince Watto to bet on. Anakin pulls out the win and Watto's enslavement of Anakin is no more. If you're not familiar with Watto, he's a character that has little else on his mind except financial success. He sells parts to pod builders from his scrap yard on the planet Tatooine and that is where Anakin worked as a child, prior to being freed. Aldar Beedo was one of the Podracers that went up against Anakin Skywalker, and was given the job of getting rid of the current champion Podracer, but failed to do so.

The LEGO Aldar Beedo is a minifig unlike your typical LEGO minifigs in other Star Wars LEGO collection sets. He and Watto are not created with standard LEGO design, but have rather been made almost lifelike through the use of a different form of LEGO mould. To make Aldar even more unique, out of all the Star Wars LEGO sets available, LEGO has included him in only one set and that is, 7186 Watto's Junkyard.

Included in 7186 Watto's Junkyard Star Wars LEGO set are Watto and Aldar Beedo and Aldar Beedo's podracer. Also included in 7186 Watto's Junkyard are a number of different pieces from various other sets that you use to combine and build a second podracer as well.
